"Skeletons of Amputees Can Not Play Jazz"
2005
Acrylic, Oil, Spray Paint, Chalk, Ink, etc.
3' x 4'
This piece is a piece I started two years ago with a series of drawings. Each drawing for some reason had a skeleton that had the arms severed. The severed hands/arms always intirigued me because of how much an artist' life is based on the use of their hands.
Another influence to the finalisation of this piece is the influence of Jazz. This painting was completed in what I like to call the "Jazz" style of painting where I improv as I go and work very quickly trying to correlate everything as I go. I start off with a basic idea or scale then work off that.
