"Despite the Head, the Human Figure Resembles a Tree"
2006
Cast Iron, Sand, Stainless Steel, Ink
2" x 2" x 9"
This piece was an improv type of piece. I knew I wanted to have the head severed and placed into the figure's chest cavity. I didnt know how exactly when I severed the head but then I decided to use the sand and the found stainless steel sphere.
The plate of sand on the sphere says "seve r". Which is a play on the words Sever and Severe. Depending on how (and if) you can read it.
