This piece goes alongside a lot of my other work where the figure has had hands severed. Usually the hands are just discarded and neglected. In this way, the hands have been kept almost as a sacred element. Honored inside the person.
Either this is a sacred element or a memory of the person. The person keeps the hands inside them as a remorse for what has been shed or lost.
Both ideas are coming through this one piece.
