This is the third piece in the "passing" series. This piece is the actual act of passing. The figure is passing through the wood. The Rectangular shape of the wood represents the passageway of death. The figure is symbolically passing from life into death in this piece.
The rectangular steel form around the figure represents a door or passageway. This passageway is to symbolize the final step in one's life. Depending on the way the viewer sees the act of passing.
