"Wade"
2005
Cast Iron, Steel, Wood, Sand
8" x 8" x 2' 5"
"Wade" is a piece I designed on the idea of passageways and pathways. These passageways and pathways can be those that life brings you to the ideas and ways you travel through your life. The cast iron figurative head is older. This is to show that even through one's later years there will be challenges that we will have to face.
The sand is to visually show disintegration in time and physical appearance. Also, I want the use of sand to bring up visuals of struggle and strife.
