This piece was an example of the "Loose Sand Mold" way of casting. This is when the sand that makes up the mold is not bound by resin. The outcome is very unpredictable.. This piece had a better outcome than I had expected so I did a few more abstracted bone studies and cast them using the loose sand mold way of working. This allowed for an even more abstracted spontaneous reaction to the casting procedure.
