This piece was also cast with the loose sand mold approach but instead of the aluminum it is cast iron. I tried to cast eight of these styrofoam bone studies. Only three looked anywhere near interesting. The iron, when cast into the loose sand, become too heavy for the sand to hold and the iron sinks and become a blob at the bottom of the bucket. This is one of the few successful iron bone studies.
